Ethan Van Dusen is a California-based photographer with over a decade of experience creating thoughtful, visually compelling imagery across landscapes, urban environments, automotive, and product photography. His work is rooted in patience, curiosity, and a strong sense of place—often shaped by the changing light, time spent observing, and an attention to the details that give images lasting impact.

 

Since picking up a camera in 2011, Ethan has worked with a wide range of brands and creatives, including shoe brands, cannabis companies, coffee roasters, breweries, luxury watch publications, and children’s book authors. He spent four years photographing corporate headshots for Patagonia and has continued to provide professional portrait and headshot work for companies across multiple industries.

 

Through Van Dusen Visuals, Ethan partners with brands, businesses, and individuals to create imagery that feels intentional, authentic, and well-crafted. Whether photographing a vehicle in motion, a product in its ideal environment, or a landscape or wildlife moment shaped by timing and patience, his approach blends clean composition with real-world context—favoring images that feel lived-in rather than overproduced.

 

When he’s not behind the camera, Ethan can usually be found camping, surfing, tinkering with his truck, DJing, or chasing good light wherever it shows up.
